Beto O'Byrne is a lifelong musician and writer that blends multiple influences of style in his songwriting and his original compositions moves seamlessly between a folk/post-punk sound (often described as Johnny Cash meets Nick Drake), traditional punk, rock, folks, blues, and more, all influenced by his love of traditional folk music, mariachi, and early 20th century blues. He came to this sound after performing off and on for punk rock and metal bands in Austin, TX.
Along with his original works, he is known to burst into acoustic reinventions of classic punk rock songs, classic country songs early folk and blues, songs from his new music project "Songs about Trains". His music has been heard in venues in Austin, Los Angeles, and New York City.
He is the composer of his original EP “1388”, (below), an upcoming punk rock/performance art experiment, and one of the chief architects of the Radical Evolution’s theatrical concert projects, “Songs about Trains”, and “Canciones” (working title).
In 2022, he returned to his punk rock roots with “A Revolutionary Chorus” - an EP of politically fueled punk rock anthems inspired by the 2020 Summer of Resistance and of resistance and protests movements across the world.
