WHAT IS 3HANDS CREATIVE AND CONSULTING?

3Hands Creative and Consulting is a boutique business that offers high-quality creative projects, educational workshops, and consulting services, all focused on the intersection between culture and social locations such as race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, and more. In our current moment, when deeper conversations around equity, social justice, and its interactions with society are proving crucial to every sector, 3Hands provides necessary services to artists, companies, and organizations.

3Hands is owned and operated by Beto O’Byrne, who has more than 20 years of experience working as a creative professional. Through his leadership, knowledge of the creative sector, and his training in and knowledge of antiracist philosophies, outlooks, and more, 3Hands is existsin a growing, competitive marketplace offering it’s services through three key initiatives:

Consulting Services and Education Services: 3Hands offers a wide array of consulting, workshops, and educational services, supporting the creation of creative projects with a focus on the intersection of art and social justice. These services include but are not limited to, the following: playwriting/creative writing workshops, sensitivity readings, private consultations and staff facilitation for antiracism/EDI efforts, tutoring projects, educational/theatre workshops, and more. Through our Consulting work and Educational workshops, we identify ways we can engage with individual artists, particularly BIPOC artists, who are looking to deepen their understanding of their craft and provide them with valuable tools and resources to help them succeed in their competitive fields. World of Kir: 3Hands is the umbrella organization for O’Byrne’s World of Kir project, a multi-genre fantasy fiction project. 3Hands serves as the fiscal conduit of the project and oversees and operates the World of Kir website, Patreon page, social media, and more. 3Hands also operates and maintains all materials created by contracted creatives and individuals working on the World of Kir project. Through this initiative, we purposefully recenter and prioritize nonwestern and BIPoC cultures and take inspirations from many of the cultures around the world that have a long rich history. Creative Services: 3Hands serves as the fiscal conduit for the artistic projects of creative artist Beto O’Byrne, including his plays, creative writing, screenplays, music, photography and more. 3Hands works with O’Byrne’s agents and managers to successfully distribute his work.

About Beto

Beto O’Byrne is an multifaceted creative and nonprofit professional from the pine forests of northern East Texas. He holds a BA in Writing from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from the University of Southern California. He began his experience as an artistic leader as Artistic Director of Austin Latino Theater Alliance, where he created the ALTA Performing Arts Showcase and directed the annual holiday tradition, La Pastorela.

As a playwright he his works have been performed in Los Angeles, Austin, San Antonio, and New York City and has performed as a musician and performer across the country. He is the co-founder of Radical Evolution, a multi-disciplinary performance group based in Brooklyn, NY.

Beto believes that the the arts are a fundamental necessity of civic life, and works both with arts and arts advocates to find ways to responsibly and sustainably improve the lives of talented artists in communities where he lives and works. He also believes strongly that that no sector in society can continue to exist without a focused and targeted dismantling of the racist systems that continue to plague our world, and it was this desire to see this change which is what ultimately let him to start 3Hands.

In addition to his work as an artist, he has provided one-on-one non-profit arts consulting services for individuals and small organizations, focusing on institutional fundraising and development. He is an often collaborator on national projects and activities, consultant, advisor, and nonprofit professional for organizations such as Theatre Communications Group (TCG) , the national Latino/a Theatre Commons Steering Committee, Galison Mudpuppy, AdvanceNYC, and the Irish Arts Center.
